About the role

 

Liontown Resources is seeking applications for a Logistics Officer to join our concentrate dispatch team. This site-based permanent opportunity will be based at our Kathleen Valley lithium project on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth.

 

Reporting to the Logistics Superintendent – Concentrate Dispatch, the Logistics Officer will work as part of a team coordinating and managing the movement of ore concentrates from Kathleen Valley to our designated shipping points or intermediate storage facilities.

 

The site-based ore dispatch team’s role is critical in ensuring the smooth and efficient transportation of ore concentrates from the mine site, contributing to the overall success of the mining operation and the timely delivery of products to customers or further processing facilities. Under the direction of the Logistics Superintendent, you will support with;

  • Collaborating and coordinating with our mining and process teams to ensure timely loading and availability of concentrates for transportation.
  • Overseeing the loading of ore concentrates onto trucks ensuring that proper procedures are followed during the loading process to avoid contamination and maintain product quality.
  • Perform manual sampling duties as required. (Sample gathering, deliveries to the onsite lab.)
  • Working with our haulage contractor to coordinate availability, scheduling collection and ensure the smooth and efficient movement of ore concentrate from Kathleen Valley to the designated destinations.
  • Working closely with the laboratory and quality control teams to conduct sampling and analysis of ore concentrates to verify and maintain product quality before dispatch.
  • Ensuring that all necessary dispatch documentation, such as loading manifests, are accurately prepared and filed in compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Maintaining effective communication with other site-based teams, logistics partners, and relevant stakeholders to address any issues or delays that may occur during the dispatch process.
  • Keeping records of dispatch activities, transportation metrics, and performance indicators. Providing regular reports to management to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of dispatch operations.

 

About you

 

  • Open Manual C Class (min) drivers licence required.
  • Previous experience within a similar role supporting the dispatch of bulk concentrate from a mining operation
  • Previous experience with contractor management would be desirable, but not a requirement.
  • Knowledge of dispatch planning, bulk load out operations, and coordination with transportation providers will be essential in ensuring the efficient movement of ore concentrate.
  • Experience in quality control and assurance procedures, particularly in handling and transporting ore concentrate, is beneficial to ensure that the product maintains its desired specifications and value.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills are essential. Working with various teams, contractors, and stakeholders requires effective communication to ensure smooth operations.
  • Mid-level knowledge of Microsoft Office suits.
  • The ability to identify and address challenges in dispatch operations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
  • Have obtained a National Police Clearance within the last 6 months or have the ability to obtain one.
  • Able to pass a Pre-Employment medical and Drug and Alcohol screen.
