Graduate Geologist - Underground Mine

We are seeking Graduate Geologists to join our expanding geology team at Kathleen Valley. Reporting to the Senior Geologist, this role is ideal for a motivated geologist looking to take ownership of the planning and execution of underground diamond drilling programs, contribute to the development of grade control and structural models, and deliver cross-functional technical projects within an operating mine environment.

This position will be offered as a full-time, permanent opportunity based at our Kathleen Valley Lithium Operation on an 8:6 fly-in fly-out (FIFO) roster from Perth.

• Rotate through Project Geologist, Underground Mining Geologist and Geology Technician functions to build strong foundational ore body knowledge
• Complete wider rotations through processing and engineering to understand the full mine value chain
• Support short-term grade control through core logging, face mapping and monitoring of grade control drilling and material movement
• Assist with drill design peer review, sample collection and database/QA-QC standards under the guidance of Project and Senior Geologists
• Gain exposure to ore control and geometallurgy, including ROM/crusher feed planning, ore-waste designation and underground and surface stockpile management
• Support production delivery by helping prepare Stope Notes, paste notes, block notes and Mining Instructions (MIs), and assist with stope inspections
• Enter sampling data into the database accurately and help validate daily material movement and production tracking data
• Contribute to reporting and reconciliation, including stope note reconciliations and QA/QC processes, escalating discrepancies as needed
• Help identify and manage risks to improve the reliability and quality of the grade control process and contribute ideas for continuous improvement

• Tertiary qualification in Geology or Earth Sciences (graduated within the past 2 years)
• Some familiarity with tools, instruments or software relevant to your discipline, whether gained through study, internships or coursework
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary mining team
• Prior site experience or internships in a mining environment highly regarded, though not essential
• A valid manual Australian driver's licence
• Strong safety mindset and ability to work autonomously
• Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance and pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screen
