About the role
Liontown Resources is seeking an Engineering & Planning Superintendent to join our Kathleen Valley fixed plant Maintenance team. This role will see you providing leadership and direction to our team of Mechanical & E&I Maintenance Planners and Engineers.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this is a site-based permanent opportunity working a flexible 8/6:4/3 roster depending on requirements.
This role ensures the effective development and execution of preventative, reliability, and shutdown maintenance programs while driving continuous improvement and optimising plant performance. You will work closely with operations and other stakeholders to ensure maximum equipment availability, reliability, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of maintenance planners and engineers, including Mechanical, Electrical, Reliability, and Control Systems specialists.
- Oversee the development and execution of preventative maintenance schedules and shutdown planning.
- Drive reliability-centred maintenance strategies and ensure optimal asset management practices.
- Analyse maintenance KPIs, identify improvement opportunities and implement best-practice solutions.
- Lead shutdown planning and execution, ensuring safety, scope, and budget compliance.
- Collaborate with production, operations, and supply chain teams to align maintenance activities with business priorities.
- Provide leadership in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
About you
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Maintenance Engineering, or equivalent trade qualification with extensive leadership experience.
- Postgraduate studies or certifications in Maintenance Management, Reliability Engineering, or Asset Management (desirable).
- 10+ years of experience in maintenance planning and/or engineering leadership roles within the WA mining or heavy industry.
- Proven experience leading teams of maintenance planners and multi-discipline engineers.
- Demonstrated experience in shutdown planning, execution, and reliability improvement projects.
- Experience working with SAP (or similar CMMS), maintenance planning tools, and reliability software.
- Strong understanding of asset management frameworks, failure mode analysis (FMEA), and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM).
- Able to pass a Pre-Employment medical, National Police Clearance, and Drug and Alcohol screen
