The opportunity


As a Mechanical Apprentice for Liontown, you will be part of a structured training program to develop your skills in mechanical maintenance and repair. This entry-level position involves hands-on learning, mentorship from experienced technicians, and exposure to various fixed plant mechanical systems.

 

What you’ll be doing


Under the guidance of experienced mechanical technicians to develop the required technical skills:


•    Receive practical training in the maintenance and repair of fixed plant mechanical components. 
•    Assist in diagnosing mechanical issues in plant such as crushers, sag mills, pumps, etc. 
•    Learn to identify and troubleshoot problems with hydraulics, pumps, conveyors and other mechanical components.
•    Participate in repairing and maintaining mechanical systems in accordance with safety and quality standards.
•    Gain experience in preventative maintenance tasks and routine inspections.
•    Learn to safely operate and maintain tools and equipment used in mechanical work. 
•    Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment.
•    Assist in documenting maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and parts usage. 
•    Contribute to maintaining accurate records of mechanical work. 

 

What we’re looking for


•    High school diploma or equivalent.
•    Enrolment or completion of a mechanical pre-apprenticeship program is beneficial.
•    Eagerness to learn and develop technical skills.
•    Attention to detail in mechanical work.
•    Effective communication and collaboration with the mechanical maintenance team.
•    Have obtained a National Police Clearance within the last 6 months or can obtain one.
•    Able to pass a Pre-Employment medical and Drug and Alcohol screen.
