The Opportunity
We are seeking a Metallurgy Superintendent to join our operational leadership team at Kathleen Valley. Reporting to the Processing Manager, this permanent role will lead a team of 8–10 (depending on project resources) and play a key part in delivering optimisation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across the processing plant.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Metallurgists, Graduates, Technicians and Project Staff.
- Drive plant optimisation initiatives to improve recovery, throughput, and efficiency.
- Implement and oversee metallurgical accounting, test work, and process monitoring programs.
- Provide technical support to operations to troubleshoot issues and deliver sustainable improvements.
- Collaborate with maintenance, mining, and technical teams to achieve site production targets.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
What we’re looking for
- Degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Significant experience in metallurgy within a processing plant environment (lithium or base/precious metals highly regarded).
- Proven leadership skills managing teams of metallurgists and/or technicians.
- Strong focus on safety, plant performance, and operational excellence.
- Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced ramp-up environment.
- Have obtained a National Police Clearance within the last 6 months or have the ability to obtain one.
- Able to pass a Pre-Employment medical and Drug and Alcohol screen.
