Liontown Resources is an emerging leader in Australia’s battery minerals sector. Following our recent capital raise, we are in a strong position as we transition into full production ramp-up at our flagship Kathleen Valley Lithium Operation. With a 20+-year mine life, state-of-the-art processing facilities, and a passionate team, this is a rare opportunity to join a business that is building a globally significant lithium operation.

Why now?

The next 12–18 months will be critical in embedding systems, optimising the plant, and unlocking the full value of our world-class orebody. Joining now means you’ll be at the forefront of shaping how the processing team operates for the life of the mine — setting standards, building capability, and leaving a lasting impact.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Metallurgy Superintendent to join our operational leadership team at Kathleen Valley. Reporting to the Processing Manager, this permanent role will lead a team of 8–10 (depending on project resources) and play a key part in delivering optimisation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across the processing plant.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Metallurgists, Graduates, Technicians and Project Staff.
  • Drive plant optimisation initiatives to improve recovery, throughput, and efficiency.
  • Implement and oversee metallurgical accounting, test work, and process monitoring programs.
  • Provide technical support to operations to troubleshoot issues and deliver sustainable improvements.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, mining, and technical teams to achieve site production targets.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

What we’re looking for

  • Degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Significant experience in metallurgy within a processing plant environment (lithium or base/precious metals highly regarded).
  • Proven leadership skills managing teams of metallurgists and/or technicians.
  • Strong focus on safety, plant performance, and operational excellence.
  • Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced ramp-up environment.
  • Have obtained a National Police Clearance within the last 6 months or have the ability to obtain one.
  • Able to pass a Pre-Employment medical and Drug and Alcohol screen.
