About the role

 

Liontown Resources Limited is seeking applications from experienced Mine Geologists to join our Kathleen Valley lithium operation. This is a permanent full time opportunity working an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth based at our Kathleen Valley Site, Kathleen Valley, Western Australia.

 

With our plant now fully commissioned, we have successfully transitioned into production and are six months into operations with a 20+ year mine life. Our Open Pit continues to operate through 2025 and at current rates is on track to be completed early in 2026. Meanwhile, our underground operations continue with decline and level development in line with plan. The team onsite remain on track to commence underground stopping in early production Q4 FY2025.

 

Reporting to the Senior Geologist, you will be responsible for geological mapping, ore sampling, and data interpretation to optimise ore extraction and contribute to the development of geological models. This role requires close collaboration with mining engineers, surveyors, and geophysicists to support efficient and sustainable mining operations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Conduct detailed geological mapping of mining areas, identifying ore bodies and geological structures.
  • Collect and analyse ore samples to determine composition, characteristics, and quality.
  • Interpret geological data to contribute to geological models and support mine planning.
  • Assist in planning and executing drilling programs, analysing drill core samples.
  • Work closely with mining engineers and surveyors to optimise ore extraction methods and support mine development.

 

About you

 

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in mine geology or a related field, preferably in the mining industry.
  • Bachelors degree in Geology or a related discipline (additional mining geology certifications are a plus).
  • Proficiency in geological mapping techniques, ore sampling, and data interpretation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and safe work practices in the mining industry.
  • Have obtained a National Police Clearance within the last 6 months or have the ability to obtain one.
  • Able to pass a Pre-Employment medical and Drug and Alcohol screen.
