The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Mine Geotechnical Superintendent to join our underground team at Kathleen Valley. Reporting directly to the Technical Services Manager, you will work on a back-to-back roster arrangement, ensuring strong site leadership continuity for both the Geotechnical & Mine Planning team as well as supporting our Geology team's leadership where needed.

What you’ll be doing

• Lead and mentor a team of three geotechnical engineers, supporting their technical development as well as overseeing our Mine Planning team when their leader is off site.
• Provide geotechnical expertise to underground mining operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and sustainable mine design and execution.
• Oversee ground control systems, rock mass characterisation, and monitoring programs.
• Work closely with our other technical services and production teams to integrate geotechnical input into design and scheduling.
• Act as the site lead for technical services when the Technical Services Manager is off-site.
• Champion continuous improvement in geotechnical practices and contribute to strategic planning.

What we’re looking for

• Tertiary qualification in Geotechnical, Mining, or Geological Engineering.
• Significant geotechnical engineering experience in underground hard-rock mining.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills with a passion for team development.
• Proven ability to integrate geotechnical design into mine planning and execution.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving capability.

• Have obtained a National Police Clearance within the last 6 months or have the ability to obtain one.
• Able to pass a Pre-Employment medical and Drug and Alcohol screen.
