Company: Liontown Resources Limited

Mine Surveying Superintendent

Permanent Opportunity | FIFO from Perth (8/6:4/3 roster)

Based at our Kathleen Valley Lithium Operations

Liontown Resources is an emerging leader in Australia’s battery minerals sector. Following our recent capital raise, we are in a strong position as we transition into full production ramp-up at our flagship Kathleen Valley Lithium Operation. With a 20+-year mine life, state-of-the-art processing facilities, and a passionate team, this is a rare opportunity to join a business that is building a globally significant lithium operation.

The Opportunity

We’re seeking an experienced Mine Surveying Superintendent to join our Kathleen Valley Mine Operations team. This role will be offered as a permanent opportunity working a 8/6:4/3 roster, FIFO from Perth.

While the team currently provides support across both areas, open pit activities are planned to conclude in early 2026, and the role’s primary focus will be leading the underground surveying function and supporting a team of 6-8 professionals.

Reporting to the Underground Manager, you’ll provide leadership, technical direction, and mentoring to a team of Senior Surveyors, Surveyors, Technicians, and Graduates, ensuring all survey activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with statutory and operational requirements.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead and manage the mine surveying team across underground and open pit operations, transitioning to a predominantly underground focus.
  • Oversee the collection, validation, and management of spatial data to support mine planning, production, and reconciliation.
  • Ensure survey control networks, monitoring systems, and mine plans are accurate and maintained to a high standard.
  • Provide technical expertise, mentoring, and professional development to the surveying team.
  • Collaborate closely with mine planning, geology, and production teams to enable safe and efficient operations.
  • Maintain compliance with statutory requirements, company standards, and industry best practice.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in surveying systems, software, and workflows.

What we’re looking for

You’re a confident technical leader who enjoys building capability within a team and delivering practical solutions that make an operational difference. You’ll also bring:

  • Qualification in Mine or Engineering Surveying.
  • Current Authorised Mine Surveyor’s Certificate of Competency (Grade 1 essential).
  • Extensive experience in mine surveying within underground hard rock mining operations (exposure to open pit advantageous).
  • Proven leadership experience managing multi-disciplinary surveying teams.
  • Strong understanding of Leica total stations, scanners, drones, and mine survey software (e.g. Deswik.CAD, AutoCAD, or similar).
  • Commitment to mentoring and developing the next generation of survey professionals.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Have obtained a National Police Clearance within the last 6 months or have the ability to obtain one.
  • Able to pass a Pre-Employment medical and Drug and Alcohol screen.

Why Liontown

At Liontown, you’ll be joining a company that’s helping drive the clean energy future. Our operations are designed with sustainability at their core — powered by renewables and built for long-term impact.

This is your opportunity to take ownership of a pivotal technical role during a major project phase, while enjoying the stability of a long-term Perth-based position.
