The Opportunity
Liontown Resources is seeking applications for Underground Mine Surveyors to join our growing underground mining team. This will be a site based permanent opportunity working an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth.
Reporting to the Senior Mine Surveyor, this role is instrumental in ensuring the precision and reliability of spatial data to support safe and efficient mining operations. These roles will be working in our underground mining team however until the closure of our open pit operations in early 2026, you may also be called upon to support with work as required.
Key Responsibilities:
Survey Control & Accuracy
- Establish and maintain survey control points and networks for our underground operations.
- Conduct regular check surveys to ensure data accuracy and compliance with mining regulations.
Surveying & Mapping
- Conduct underground surveys, including declines, development drives, and stopes, to support mining activities.
- Provide precise measurements for drilling, blasting, and ore extraction
3D Modelling & Mine Planning Support
- Develop and maintain 3D models and mine plans
- Collaborate with mine engineers to optimise infrastructure layouts, blast designs, and stope sequencing.
Volume Calculations & Ore Tracking
- Calculate and monitor ore volumes, material movements, and stope progression.
- Perform stockpile surveys and reconcile ore movement and quality against production targets.
- Support reconciliation between planned and actual production.
Survey Technology & Innovation
- Manage and calibrate survey instruments, including total stations, laser scanners, and UAV/drone technology.
- Implement advanced surveying technologies and techniques to improve efficiency and accuracy.
About you
- Bachelor's or diploma level qualification in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a mining operations environment.
- Underground mining experience desirable.
- Proven track record in leading surveying activities in underground environments is highly desired.
- Proficiency in surveying software and GIS tools, exposure to Deswik is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities within cross-functional mining teams.
- Able to pass a Pre-Employment medical, National Police Clearance, and Drug and Alcohol screen.
