About the Role
Liontown Resources is seeking a passionate and driven Plant Metallurgist at the Kathleen Valley Lithium Operation, now officially in production. This is a permanent, site-based opportunity on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth.
As a key member of our Metallurgy team, you’ll play an important role in monitoring and optimising plant performance across the entire processing circuit. You'll conduct testwork, analyse plant data, and support continuous improvement initiatives to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality lithium concentrate.

- Oversee and support daily metallurgical operations across crushing, grinding, separation, flotation, and concentrate handling.
- Monitor process performance and identify optimisation opportunities.
- Undertake testwork and data analysis to drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate metallurgical accounting and daily production reporting.
- Collaborate with processing, maintenance, and technical teams to resolve issues and support plant performance.
About You
- Bachelor of Science in Extractive Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering (with sufficient relevant experience in Mineral Processing).
- Postgraduate experience in metallurgy, with a focus on mineral processing.
- Proven experience in process optimisation and quality control.
- Understanding of the WA Mines Safety and Inspection Act 1994 and Regulations 1995
- Previous experience in Lithium Processing is advantageous, including crushing, grinding, magnetic separation, gravity separation, flotation (oxide flotation an advantage), thickening, filtration, and reagent control.
- Well-developed understanding and development of metallurgical accounting practices.
- Project management skills and experience.
- Well-developed analytical skills, including problem-solving and data analysis.
- Valid Australian C class drivers licence
- Have obtained a National Police Clearance within the last 6 months or have the ability to obtain one.
- Able to pass a Pre-Employment medical and Drug and Alcohol screen.
