Processing Manager
Date: 24 Apr 2026
Location: Kathleen, Western Australia, Australia
Company: Liontown Resources Limited
Who We Are
Liontown Limited is an emerging Tier 1 Battery Minerals producer on a mission to power a low-carbon future. At our flagship Kathleen Valley Lithium Operation — Australia’s first underground lithium mine — we’ve built something genuinely extraordinary: world-class ore bodies, the largest paste plant in the southern hemisphere, state-of-the-art processing facilities, and a 20+-year mine life. We are deep into production ramp-up and building the team that will shape this operation for decades to come.
This is more than a job. It’s a rare opportunity to lead one of the most significant processing operations in Australian resources history — and to do it at a company where ESG leadership, innovation, and people genuinely matter.
About the Role
As Processing Manager, you will hold full accountability for the safe, efficient, and commercially effective operation of the Kathleen Valley processing and pastefill plants — from ore receipt through to concentrate dispatch and tailings management including pastefill delivery.
Leading four Superintendent-level direct reports across production operations, production services (TSF, paste plant, water treatment), and metallurgy, you’ll set the department’s strategic direction, drive cross-functional performance, and build the next generation of processing leaders. If you are energised by complexity and driven to define the benchmark for lithium processing in Australia — this role was built for you.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead plant throughput, metallurgical recovery, and product quality to agreed targets, monitoring performance data and directing the team’s response to trends and risks
• Own the processing departmental budget, drive cost discipline, and identify efficiency and value-creation opportunities across plant operations
• Establish and implement the processing strategy, aligning departmental objectives with KV Operations plans and Liontown’s corporate goals
• Drive the continuous improvement agenda — championing best practice, emerging technologies, plant trials, and process innovation
• Lead plant shutdown planning and maintenance interfaces to maximise asset availability and reliability across the processing plant, TSF, paste plant, and water treatment facility
• Set the safety standard: model proactive safety leadership, hold teams accountable, and ensure compliance with WA Mines Safety and Inspection Act obligations
• Engage and influence cross-functional planning with the General Manager and peer leaders across KV Operations
• Develop and mentor future leaders within the processing team, building succession depth and a high-performance team culture
• Ensure compliance with all legislative, regulatory, and environmental obligations, maintaining oversight of statutory reporting and management systems
About You
• Extensive experience in mineral processing plant operations inclusive of flotation recovery methodologies, with demonstrated accountability for throughput, recovery, and product quality
• Substantial senior leadership in a mining or processing environment, with oversight of multiple teams or disciplines
• Degree in metallurgy, chemical engineering, mineral processing, or related discipline; SSE Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
• Proven budget management, cost performance, and operational planning experience
• Strong strategic thinker, advanced technical understanding of processing circuits, and a data-driven approach to decision-making
• Genuine commitment to safety leadership and proactive safety culture
• Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance and pass a pre-employment medical and D&A screen
Why Join Us
• Be part of a Tier 1 lithium operation with a 20+ year mine life — this is not a start-up; it’s a world-class asset in full ramp-up
• Play a defining role in shaping how lithium is processed in Australia and on the global stage
• Lead a talented, passionate team with real succession potential and the resources to deliver
• Generous incentive plan including cash and/or share bonuses
• A company that takes ESG leadership seriously, with significant investment in renewable energy infrastructure
• The chance to grow, be heard, and help build something genuinely significant in Australia’s clean energy future
