About the role
We are seeking a Project Geologist to join our Geology team at our Kathleen Valley Lithium Operation. This role is ideal for a motivated geologist looking to work across drilling programs, resource modelling, and cross-functional technical projects within an operating mine environment.
You’ll play a pivotal role in supporting underground drilling programs, collaborating closely with our mine planning and production teams to ensure high-quality geological inputs into operational decision-making and future resource development.
This position will be offered as a permanent opportunity based at our Kathleen Valley Lithium Operation on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth.
Reporting to the Geology Superintendent, you will be responsible for;
- Plan, coordinate, and execute underground drilling programs (infill and resource extension)
- Conduct core logging, sampling, and QAQC checks to ensure data quality
- Undertake geological modelling and interpretation of the orebody
- Liaise with mine planning and production teams to ensure seamless data flow
- Assist with contractor management and supervision during drilling campaigns
- Contribute to resource estimation, reconciliation, and reporting processes
- Provide mentoring and technical support to junior geologists and field teams
- Maintain accurate and timely geological records and reports
About you
- Tertiary qualification in Geology or Earth Sciences
- Previous experience in an underground production or project geology role (open to strong exploration or resource geos with relevant transferable experience)
- Experience with underground drill design and management, core logging, and QAQC practices
- Experience in geological wireframing and modelling
- Competence in geological modelling software (e.g. Leapfrog, Datamine) and AcQuire Database software.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to train up junior members of the team
- A valid manual Australian drivers licence
- Strong safety mindset and ability to work autonomously in a remote site environment
- Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance and pass a pre-employment medical and D&A screen
