About the role
Join Liontown Resources and be part of one of Australia’s most exciting lithium operations. Our Kathleen Valley underground mine is unique — providing direct access to higher-grade mineralisation while minimising both waste and the environmental footprint of the project.
In this permanent, site-based position, you'll operate on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth and play a critical leadership role within our underground mining team. This position works back-to-back with another Senior Mine Geologist and reports to the Geology Superintendent.
As a Senior Mine Geologist, you’ll lead day-to-day geological activities and provide technical oversight to a team of Mine Geologists and Geology Technicians. You'll be instrumental in delivering quality grade control interpretation, geological data leading to clean ore extraction and mine to mill reconciliation, helping drive the success of our underground operations through the early production ramp-up phase and beyond.
- Lead and coordinate underground geology activities including mapping, sampling, logging, and data management.
- Mentor and develop a team of Mine Geologists and Technicians, fostering a high-performing and safety-first culture.
- Work closely with the Geology Superintendent and other site departments to support short- and medium-term planning.
- Ensure accurate ore body interpretation, grade control and reconciliation to maximise ore recovery.
- Develop, maintain and improve geological systems, processes, and standards for underground operations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to a collaborative site culture.
About you
- Tertiary qualification in Geology or Earth Sciences.
- Extensive mine geology experience in underground hard rock operations (lithium experience highly regarded).
- Experience in a Leadership/Senior or Project positions will be advantageous
- Strong understanding of grade control processes, resource modelling, and reconciliation.
- Experience in Datamine and Orepro are desired
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to mentor junior staff.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams.
- A proactive and safety-focused approach to work.
- Have obtained a National Police Clearance within the last 6 months or have the ability to obtain one.
- Able to pass a Pre-Employment medical and Drug and Alcohol screen.
