About the role
Liontown Resources is seeking an experienced Senior Mine Surveyor to join our underground mining team based at our Kathleen Valley lithium operation. This role will be a permanent opportunity on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth.
Reporting to the Surveying Superintendent, this role is instrumental in ensuring the precision and reliability of spatial data to support safe and efficient underground mining operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Underground Survey Control
- Establish and maintain survey control points and networks within underground workings.
- Conduct regular checks and adjustments to ensure data accuracy.
Surveys
- Oversee surveys of declines, development drives, and stopes to map underground workings.
- Provide precise measurements for drilling, blasting, and ore extraction activities.
3D Modelling and Mapping
- Create 3D models and maps to support mine planning and development.
- Collaborate with mine engineers to optimise underground infrastructure layout.
Volume Calculations and Ore Tracking
- Calculate and monitor ore volumes, material movements, and stope progression.
- Work with geologists to reconcile ore quality with production targets.
Survey Instrumentation and Technology
- Manage and calibrate survey instruments, including total stations and laser scanners.
- Implement advanced surveying technologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
About you
- Bachelor's or diploma level qualification in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years in underground mine surveying roles, focusing on large-scale mining operations.
- Proven track record in leading surveying activities in underground environments.
- Proficiency in surveying software and GIS tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities within cross-functional mining teams.
- Able to pass a Pre-Employment medical, National Police Clearance, and Drug and Alcohol screen.
