Technology Communication Technician

Date: 25 Jun 2026

Location: Kathleen, Western Australia, Australia

Company: Liontown Resources Limited

Who are we?

Liontown Limited (ASX: LTR) is one of Australia's newest and most exciting lithium producers. Our Kathleen Valley Lithium Operation in Western Australia is a world-class, tier-one asset with a 20+ year mine life — and we're now building on that foundation through a significant staged underground expansion.

The expansion is underway. Underground development of the Northwest Flats orebody is progressing, infrastructure programs are accelerating, and a dedicated project team is being assembled to deliver the next phase of Liontown's growth.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Control Systems & Technology Superintendent, this is a site-based, hands-on role responsible for supporting and maintaining the IT and operational communications systems that keep Kathleen Valley connected and running. You’ll be the primary on-site responder for IT/OT technology faults, providing technical support to end users and operational teams across both surface and underground environments.

From site networks and radio communications through to fibre infrastructure and remote field systems, you’ll work across technology that’s critical to personnel safety, production continuity, and business operations — collaborating closely with central technology teams and external vendors to keep it all available and fit for purpose.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Act as the first point of contact for site technology faults and escalations, responding to and resolving incidents impacting site operations
  • Assist central IT teams with diagnostics, changes, and system improvements, as well as BAU end user device support
  • Maintain and troubleshoot site IT/OT infrastructure including LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi networks, switches, routers, access points, endpoints, servers, and workstations
  • Install, configure, maintain, and fault-find surface and underground communications systems, including VHF/UHF analogue and digital radio networks (DMR, TETRA), private LTE or site wireless, repeaters, and base stations, along with RF testing, signal analysis, coverage verification, antenna optimisation, and microwave and point-to-point backhaul
  • Support structured cabling and fibre-optic infrastructure (fibre testing, basic splicing and OTDR testing, and copper and Ethernet termination), as well as communications power systems (UPS, DC supplies, batteries, and solar-powered remote sites), earthing and lightning protection, and temporary and mobile communications infrastructure
  • Perform communications tower climbing and elevated work, including antenna, feeder, and coax installation, microwave dish alignment, and inspection of towers and masts — in line with working-at-heights and tower rescue requirements
  • Support cybersecurity and remote access (firewall, VPN, and secure vendor connectivity), maintain documentation and asset registers, and ensure all work complies with site safety, electrical safety, and RF exposure requirements

What We're Looking For

  • Demonstrated experience in site-based IT and/or communications support, ideally within mining, heavy industry, or remote operational environments
  • Qualifications in Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA, or equivalent (desirable).
  • Valid Western Australian C Class driver’s licence.
  • Certificate III or IV in Electronics and Communications, Telecommunications, or Electrical, or equivalent demonstrated industry experience.
  • Working at Heights certification (required).
  • Tower Rescue certification, or willingness to obtain.
