It is one of the few lithium projects globally in construction today, with first production achieved in mid-2024 of schedule.
About the role
Based in our West Perth head office with monthly site travel, and supporting the Kathleen Valley site, this role is pivotal in supporting our mining and exploration projects through advanced geospatial analysis and drone operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in data collection, processing, and visualization to inform project planning and decision-making.
The successful candidate will support cross-functional teams including environmental, exploration, and approvals to ensure accurate, timely, and regulatory-compliant geospatial deliverables.
What you’ll be doing:
- Operate drones (UAVs) for aerial mapping, site monitoring, environmental assessments, and volumetric surveys.
- Process and analyse geospatial data collected via UAVs, GPS, and other remote sensing tools.
- Manage, maintain, and update GIS databases to support project planning, environmental approvals, and operational decision-making.
- Produce high-quality maps, 3D models, and spatial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure all drone operations comply with CASA regulations and internal safety protocols.
- Coordinate with various teams to deliver accurate geospatial data that aligns with project timelines.
- Support field operations with GPS data collection and assist in flight planning for UAV missions.
- Conduct volumetric and environmental UAV surveys, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
What you’ll bring:
- Proficient in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or Global Mapper.
- Demonstrated experience in drone operations, flight planning, and post-processing using software such as Pix4D, DroneDeploy, DJI software, or Agisoft Metashape.
- Strong knowledge of coordinate systems, spatial data formats, and geoprocessing workflows.
- Ability to analyse complex geospatial datasets and deliver meaningful insights.
- Experience supporting field teams and navigating remote environments independently.
- Valid Remote Pilot Licence (RePL) and current CASA accreditation.
- Current (or ability to obtain) National Police Clearance.
- Able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screen.
