Lead Project Engineer – Sustaining Capital Projects
2-Year Max Term Project Opportunity
Perth-based role (site travel as required) supporting our Kathleen Valley Lithium Operation

The Opportunities
We are seeking a motivated Lead Project Engineer – Sustaining Capital to join our Projects team on a 2-year maximum term contract. This role will be responsible for managing the end-to-end delivery of sustaining capital projects at Kathleen Valley, ensuring that works are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards.
You will play a key role in scoping, sourcing, and procuring contractors, managing tender and award processes, and overseeing the execution of various mid-range value sustaining capital works packages across our operation.
What you’ll do
- Manage the planning and delivery of sustaining capital projects from feasibility through to execution and close-out.
- Develop scopes of work, budgets, and schedules, ensuring alignment with operational requirements.
- Lead contractor engagement including tendering, evaluation, award, and contract administration.
- Monitor contractor performance to ensure delivery in line with safety, quality, schedule, and cost expectations.
- Provide accurate project reporting and updates to key stakeholders.
- Identify risks, implement mitigation strategies, and maintain compliance with statutory and company standards.
- Work collaboratively with site operations, engineering, and supply teams to ensure seamless project integration.
What we’re looking for
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Process, Electrical, or similar) or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in Project Engineering and Project Management within the mining/resources sector.
- Strong understanding of procurement and contract management processes.
- Demonstrated capability in managing multiple mid-value capital works projects simultaneously.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Strong commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- Have obtained a National Police Clearance within the last 6 months or have the ability to obtain one.
- Able to pass a Pre-Employment medical and Drug and Alcohol screen.
